Privacy & child safety

What we collect

• Account details for parents, drivers, and school staff (name, email, role)
• Learner details needed for transport (name, grade, route, pickup/drop-off stops)
• Live and recent bus location while trips are active (driver phone GPS and/or Geotab devices)
• Attendance, absence, and incident records created by schools or drivers

How location is used

Live bus positions are shown to linked parents for their child’s active route, and to authorized school staff. Pickup “bus nearby” alerts use distance to the child’s pickup stop. Location is not a public feed.

Who can see what

• Parents see only their linked children and related trips
• Drivers see learners and trips for their school assignment
• School admins manage their school’s fleet, learners, and announcements

Geotab and third parties

If your school uses Geotab hardware, BusTrack may sync device inventory and GPS from Geotab under the school’s Geotab account credentials. Those systems have their own terms and privacy policies.

Your choices

Ask your school to unlink a child, reset passwords, or remove an account. For product questions contact us via the Contact page.
